How to Install Peel-and-Stick Wallpaper

Installing our wallpaper is way easier than it looks. You don’t need a pro, just a little patience and maybe a podcast in the background.

Updated over a week ago

Here’s how to do it:

Prep your wall

  • Make sure it’s smooth, dry, clean, and painted (and wait at least 2 weeks after painting!)

  • Wipe it down with a damp cloth and let it dry completely

Mark a straight line

  • Use a level or a laser to mark a vertical line where your first panel will go — this is so important. Even if your wall looks straight, it might not be, and a tiny tilt at the start can throw everything off later.

Getting that first panel 100% straight makes the rest go on smoothly, trust us. It’s the secret sauce to a flawless install.

Peel stick (slowly)

  • Peel about 6–10 inches of the backing off the top of your first panel

  • Stick that top section to the wall and smooth it down

  • Continue peeling and sticking little by little, smoothing as you go

Smooth it out

  • Use a felt tool or squeegee to press out bubbles as you go

  • Go from the center out to the edges

Match your patterns

Each of our panels includes a 0.5 inch overlap to make installation easier and help patterns match up perfectly.

So when you’re ready for the next panel:

  • Slightly overlap it over the previous one by 0.5 inch

  • Match the pattern visually

  • Smooth it down just like the first

Trim the edges

  • Once the panel is fully applied, use a sharp utility knife to trim the excess at the top and bottom

Please make sure to follow the instructions included with your order — they’re there to make the process easy and stress-free. If the guidelines aren’t followed correctly, Artza Co. cannot be held responsible for any issues that arise during or after installation.
